Sound
As a result of musical preferences, influences and backgrounds of each of the band members the sound of AMETHEON is varied and not as easy to describe. The lyrics and melodies will catch the attention of many metal-devout, but during past concerts visitors unfamiliar with the genre have found themselves pleasantly surprised with the accessibility of the music. The melodic songs of Ametheon invoke images in the stillness of twilight, and for a brief moment let you forget about time and the troubles of everyday life…
Background
What has started as a couple of friends joining to play music, AMETHEON has matured through time. In its history the band saw some musicians leave and welcomed others in their place, evolving from a Delft-based student band to a interprovincial mix of musicians. The first demo Crystal Cage dates back to 2004. Two years later the band recorded their second demo Other World which was very well received. Publishing the demo resulted in a wide range of concerts in the The Hague area. After this initial rise with its pinnacle at the 2007 Midwinterfair at the Archeon and the recording of the third and latest demo, lead singer Lysanne announced her parting with the band. With her departure Ametheon reconsidered the setting of the band. After a search the band found two new members to strengthen their forces and now, at the dawn of winter 2008, Ametheon is ready to rise once again.
